Former Thomas Jefferson Middle School Vice-Principal Cindy Pena is ready for her new endeavor as the Principal of James Monroe Elementary School.
The Madera Unified School District Board of Trustees met for their biweekly meeting to address important updates and decisions affecting the district.
A key highlight of the evening was the announcement that Cindy Pena, vice principal at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, will step into a new role as principal at James Monroe Elementary School. Pena was joined by friends and family Wednesday to celebrate the announcement.
Superintendent Todd Lile informed the board that former James Monroe principal, Leonard Perez, will leave his position to take on a role at the district office as a Coordinator in the Multilingual Educational Program, working alongside the dual-language residents.
