Monroe teacher named Educator of the Year

Elizabeth Ochoa, a teacher at Monroe Elementary School, was honored as the Region 7 California League of Schools Elementary Educator of the Year for 2023-24 in December.


Ochoa gave a speech at the event, emphasizing students’ potential and teachers’ impact, which resonated with the audience.


She also talked about all the lessons her students have taught her and how they have shaped and motivated a lifelong mission to teach. This achievement not only recognizes her exceptional dedication but also reflects the effectiveness of the staff at Monroe Elementary and the collaborative efforts within the school.
