Madera South to host youth soccer clinic

Whether one comes to learn a few things from the Madera South Stallions boys soccer team, or just to lace up their cleats and kick a ball around, the only objective for Stallions head coach Enrique Garcia is to have fun at the Stallions’ Youth Soccer Clinic.

The game of soccer was meant to bring out the fun in sports and Garcia firmly believes that the only way to play is when you are enjoying yourself on the pitch.

“We just want kids to come out here and have fun. We are lucky to be able to have something like this,” Garcia said. “The idea of having a clinic has been talked about for some time now and last year, with COVID, we weren’t allowed to run one due to certain restrictions.

“But, we are excited to have one this year. We have a good amount of kids signed up already, so we are expecting a good turnout.”

Held on August 16, 17 and 19 from 6:15 to 8 p.m., the Stallions boys soccer team will be assisting first hand with drills and fun games throughout the evening in the Madera South Stadium for players between 4-13 years old.

The cost to attend is $25 per child, which includes direct assistance with former Valley and NorCal Champions Madera South boys soccer and a “Little Stallions” shirt.

“When kids start playing the game, it’s important to show them the fun side,” Garcia said. “This is the first time I have run a camp as a head coach.”

All proceeds will be going directly to the Madera South boys soccer team, which will directly impact the players.
