Hit and run driver caught

Thanks to witnesses, a hit and run driver was located a short distance away from the crash scene.

On New Year’s Day, at approximately 10:15 a.m., CHP Madera officers responded to a hit-and-run traffic crash involving two vehicles, on southbound SR-99, south of Avenue 18 1/2.

A yellow compact car collided into a pick-up and its horse trailer. The driver fled the scene, but not before witnesses got a detailed description of the driver and vehicle.
