CLOVIS — After a one-run victory over Orange Cove in the morning, the Liberty Hawks softball team walked off with a win over Clovis West in the afternoon at the Buchanan Preseason Tournament on Saturday.
“It’s real big to get these wins,” head coach Keith Davis said. “We went 3-1 in the tournament. We came in and got things together as a team early on. It’s really big for the girls that they can compete at this level. It was huge for the kids. It was a good day.”
The Hawks did just enough for a 2-1 win over Orange Cove early Saturday morning. Carly Hestrom accounted for both runs with an RBI triple and later scored.
