Golfer making a name for herself

Chowchilla’s Asterisk Talley is making Chowchilla proud with her exploits on the golf course, including leading the American Junior Ryder Cup team to a win over the European team a couple of weeks ago.

While the American Ryder Cup golf team failed to bring home the cup after losing to the Europeans, the American Junior Ryder Cup team brought their cup back home. 

Chowchilla’s Asterisk Talley led the American team with three wins and a tie in four matches in three days before the other Ryder Cup began a couple of weeks ago. Talley, the No. 1 ranked junior female golfer in the world, tied in a mixed doubles match, but then took home three other individual matches, including an individual match win. 

“It’s awesome that everyone is thinking I’m putting Chowchilla on the map,” Talley said. “It’s super cool to see everyone so proud and supportive of everything I’ve done.”
