Give compliments to the living

During the past couple of months, there have been several people I knew who have passed away. I was just thinking about the different terms we use when we talk about someone who has just died. “Passed away, died, went to be with the Lord, crossed over, departed, and there are probably close to a dozen more terms we hear that mean the same thing. People use the term that gives them the most comfort.
Family and other loved ones put together a memorial service, funeral, or celebration of life. Again, there are a number of terms we use for the designated time to honor the loved one who has just passed.
Whatever you want to call it, there is a need to have closure, to move on, to give a send-off. (Here again, more variety of terms for this process.)
