Madera’s Emily Erwin gets one of her two hits in Tuesday’s loss to Sanger. She scored to of Madera’s four runs.

Heading into Tuesday’s regular season finale, the Madera Coyotes softball team had a chance to win the County/Metro Athletic Conference title, outright, with a win against the Sanger Apaches.

However, mistakes cost the Coyotes in a 10-4 loss, and it also may have cost the Coyotes the chance to host a playoff game. Even with the loss, both teams finished 4-2 in the CMAC and shared the league title.

Sanger earned the No. 8 seed and will host the first round game in Div. I, while the Coyotes travel to Visalia to face Redwood, a team they split with during the season.
