Coyotes dominate before bye week

Madera’s Chris Alvarez runs into the end zone to complete a 59-yard interception return for a touchdown in Friday’s 49-0 victory over Del Oro.

Heading into its bye week, the Madera Coyote football team enjoyed its second straight domination game for a 4-1 non-league record.

The Coyotes controlled the first-year Del Oro Suns on Friday with a 49-0 victory that could have been much worse.

The Coyotes amassed 280 yards of total offense while Del Oro, who is in its first year of varsity football, had just 66 yards, including 30 on the ground. Del Oro gained half of its yards on one play.
