Cooling centers activated

With the forecasted temperatures later this week reaching 105 degrees and higher, the City of Madera will be activating a Cooling Center starting through Friday at the Pan American Community Center, 703 E. Sherwood Way, from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Refreshments and activities will be provided for participants.
The Madera Police Department’s front lobby at 330 S. “C” Street will also operate as 24-hour cooling center during the above-mentioned dates.
