City announces plan to adjust utility bill due dates
If you’ve ever found yourself in the winding queue at City Hall, surrounded by fellow Maderans waiting to pay utility bills around the 25th of the month, you know first-hand about the extensive wait times and long lines.
To address this, city officials have crafted an innovative plan to shrink those daunting lines by introducing a more efficient billing system aimed at reducing wait times, and allowing in-person bill payers to breeze in and out of the building in a fraction of the time.
During their meeting on February 21, the City Council approved a proposal that optimizes the current due date structure for City utility bills, shifting customers’ due date from the 25th of the month to a new date determined by the location of their utility account.
