Funk and jazz group Kool and the Gang will “celebrate good times” at Madera District Fair on Sept. 8.
Madera District Fair has been “Your Fair since 1937!” For 80 years, the Madera fair has provided family entertainment to cap the summer and that won't change this year. With paid gate admission, guests can enjoy Madera Fair’s Table Mountain Concert Series presented by Tecate Light nightly entertainment all four nights of the Fair.
The all free festival venue offers multiple options to fairgoers. New changes to an all free concert venue come from Madera District Fair’s simple mission of ‘“providing a venue that is fun, safe and family oriented.” Front and center stage to all concerts is open for standing only to first come, first serve fans. Madera Fair is thrilled to open this area for all and for “BIG time fun” to break out.
If sit back and relax is your style, Madera Fair offers new camp style folding chairs, rented nightly for an easy $5. Plenty of open grass is available. Additional bleachers will be available behind the open festival for the party who wants to see the whole venue!
With free concerts to all, this year’s line-up and accommodations may have you out multiple nights. The concert series kicks-off Thursday with Gary Allan delivering his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and a raucous live performance at 7:30 pm.
The concert “Celebration” continues Friday at 8 p.m. with the bulletproof funk and jazzy arrangements of Kool and the Gang, who’ve performed continuously for the past 43 years. Saturday at 8 p.m., Eddie Money will have the venue “Shakin,’” entertaining in his signature style and passion he’s delivered for more than 30 years.
Sunday closes out the series with not one but two bands! Madera Fair is thrilled to bring to the stage Banda Carnaval composed of talented young musicians who bring to their audience the rhythm of Sinaloense music followed by Conjunto Primavera who entertains with romanticism in all its forms, from the modern international pop ballad to the most danceable cumbia norte.
