Golden Chain to celebrate its 50th anniversary

The Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.

The Golden Chain stages plays and musicals, using local talent. GCT is celebrating our 50th year of providing live entertainment to our mountain community.

“Over the last few years we have seen tremendous growth and see nothing but the best for our future,” said theater spokesman Steve Montalto. “To celebrate this monumental occasion, we are hosting the Golden Gala fundraiser on Sept. 9.

“The gala is a formal fundraising event featuring a silent auction, free champagne and hor d’ouevres, a raffle, a preview of the 2018 season, and live entertainment. We are inviting the community to come support community theatre and be a part of the next 50 years.”

He said all proceeds from the event will be used to support the many programs, including youth performing arts, that are going on at the Golden Chain Theatre.
