Funk and jazz group Kool and the Gang will “celebrate good times” at Madera District Fair on Sept. 8.
For the first time in 80 years, Madera District Fair will feature an all-free festival concert venue. With paid gate admission, fairgoers can attend a Table Mountain Concert Series all four nights of the fair.
Presented by Tecate Light, the series will kick off Sept. 7 with country artist Gary Allan delivering a blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and a raucous live performance at 7:30 p.m. The concert “celebration” continues at 8 p.m. Sept. 8 with the funk and jazzy arrangements of Kool and the Gang, who’ve performed continuously for 43 years. At 8 p.m. Sept. 9, Eddie Money will have the venue “shaken’” with style and passion he’s delivered for more than 30 years.
The concert series closes Sept. 10 with not one but two bands as Madera District Fair brings to the stage Banda Carnaval, featuring the rhythm of Sinaloense music, and Conjunto Primavera, which entertains with romanticism in all its forms, from the modern international pop ballad to the danceable cumbia norte.
Adult gate admission can be purchased online at www.maderafair.com for an “Early Bird Super Saver” price of $6 per ticket. The special gate pricing is available through Aug. 15. Continued savings will be available for both admission and carnival wristbands through Sept. 6.
