Local administration building to get new Starbucks kiosk

The Madera County Government Center will have a new Starbucks coffee kiosk in its lobby before fall.
The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday to tear out an information desk from the center’s main lobby, across from the elevators and the clerk-recorder’s office, and install a prefabricated kiosk, furnishings and systems.
Cost of the project is estimated to be $255,000, all of which will be borrowed and paid back from sales, according to Madera County Chief Administrative Officer Eric Fleming.
The county will borrow $200,000 interest free for the project from Aramark Corporation, which provides food and other services to county facilities. The remaining $55,000 will come from capital funds derived from the county’s share of tobacco taxes...
