Madera South Athletics Director Andrea Devine, right, and Athletics Administrative Assistant Amber Jaurique congratulate Anahi Sanchez, middle, for receving the Madera South Horseshoe patch after lettering for more than 12 teams.
When Anahi Sanchez heard she was an 11-time varsity letter winner for Madera South High School, she was stunned.
“I wish I made it 12 varsity letters,” she said. “I’m proud of 11 varsity letters. I didn’t realize I had that many until (Madera South Athletics Directo, Andrea) Devine called me into her office. In my mind, I thought I only had 9-10. My dad was proud of me because of the sacrifices we put in over the years to get me to have those. I’m proud of myself.”
Sanchez earned varsity letters for cross country, track, competition pom, competition cheer, sideline and track.
