Opinion: Virtues of the Right
I’ve stated in a few of my letters in the past that the Republican Party and it’s leaders are far from perfect, but I also have said that, given the choice between the two major parties, there is really no choice on who we should choose to lead the United States. I’ve also concentrated on the negatives of what the Democrat party, and the small group of radicals that have hijacked the party, have done. One of the great things about chili is that you can make it any way you like. Meaning, if you don’t eat meat, make a vegetarian or vegan version. Don’t like hot and spicy? Tone it down to suit your comfort zone. Add this or take away that, and you end up with your own custom-made chili. I thi

Madera’s ‘Soiled Doves’ — Happy Valentines Day
For The Madera Tribune Sheriff John Barnett (right) came up against Madera’s flourishing Redlight District and lost. Prostitution was a fact of life in Madera from its early beginnings. The town had barely been founded when entrepreneurs of the world’s oldest profession descended upon the little village, and by the turn of the century the illicit traffic in human flesh was an embarrassment to most of the “law-abiding” folks. Although occasionally a saloon or hotel east of the
