Madera County Sheriff’s officers responded to the following incidents from June 19-24.
Monday, June 19
1:54 a.m. — Deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Highway 99 and Avenue 9 in Madera regarding the driver of a vehicle driving under the influence. California Highway Patrol arrived on the scene and after their investigation placed the driver under arrest o for driving under the influence.
2:41 a.m. — Deputy conducted a vehicle check near Avenue 7 and Highway 99 in Madera regarding a driver passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle. Driver was contacted and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. Subject was booked on numerous weapons charges. A report was written and evidence was booked.
2:54 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of River Falls Lane in Oakhurst regarding an adult female who was at the residence attempting to take a 2-year-old away from her grandmother. While deputy was en route to the call the female broke a window in an attempt to take the child out of the home. This report was forwarded to the District attorneys’ Office for filing of child endangerment.
10:36 p.m. — Deputy was on routine patrol in a marked patrol carin the area of the North Fork Market within the 57000 block of Road 225 in North Fork. A vehicle sped into the parking lot and came to an abrupt stop. Three males jumped out of the vehicle in an apparent argument. One male smashed out a window of the vehicle with his fist walked over to some plastic crates that were stacked outside the business and began throwing the crates into the parking lot. The man began punching the walls of the business in a fit of rage, causing him to injure his fists. The male reportedly had been drinking and was intoxicated. Upon contact the male was restrained by deputies as he made threats against one or more of the deputies and struggled against them. He was placed into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries and later was booked into the Madera County Jail.
Wednesday, June 21
6:36 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Trabuco Road in Coarsegold regarding a domestic disturbance. During the investigation the subjects were determined to be illegally squatting on private property. One subject was cited for violating county code. The case was to be forwarded to Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.
11:15 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Manzanita Road in Oakhurst regarding an assault. The landlord assaulted the tenant with a broom. The victim requested a report for documentation. Case referred to the District Attorney’s Office for charges.
Thursday, June 22
12:50 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of SR 49 in Oakhurst regarding a theft from a motor vehicle. A report was written.
8:39 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 30000 block of Donald Avenue in Madera, regarding a report of a male subject who had been shot at. Photos were taken of damages to the property. A report was written and closed due to lack of leads.
Friday, June 23
Saturday, June 24
7:30 a.m. — Deputy responded to the area near Road 32 and Avenue 12 in Madera regarding theft of copper wire from a pump. A crime report was generated.
12:58 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Blue Oak Lane in Oakhurst for an elderly female who did not want her adult daughter around. The deputy determined the female could not take care of herself and a protective hold was placed and she was transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation.
5:28 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in Coarsegold regarding a dog in a locked vehicle. The owner was found and arrested.
