Months before I got bit by the Boston bug and decided to run a marathon, I resolved to start running again. The last time I called myself a runner, I was 16 and a junior in high school.

Editor’s note: City Councilman Gary Svanda began this series Wednesday by reminding us that trying to balance the city budget by firing more people or raising taxes and fees no longer would work.
As students approach high school graduation, it is time for them to reconsider attending college if they have decided not to continue their educations.
I had to give up growing cucumbers (animals ate everything), but I can usually find some good ones at farmers markets and most grocery stores.
