The seasons of family

The importance of relationships cannot be emphasized enough. We are born to be social people. That doesn’t mean “social media” or internet relationships, although the electronic relationships may be better than none.

I have said many times that I make families wherever I go. I think that is because just the word “family” is meaningful to me. I was raised in a loving family in which relationships were important, and it is through these relationships that we learned also the meaning of the word love.

At a time in my life when the number of relatives is diminishing, I sense an increasing importance in knowing I always have people in my life who I can consider “family.”
