Liberty track star chooses Chico

Liberty track star Grace Haney officially signs her National Letter of Intent with her parents watching at a Liberty singing event in May. Haney was one of five Liberty athletes, and one of two track athletes, to sign to a four-year college.

After working through mental issues early in her high school career, Liberty Hawk track star Grace Haney had a mind shift her senior year and will continue her track career at Chico State. 

Haney’s signing marks four Madera-area track athletes headed to Chico State, joining Madera South’s Dylan Devine, Adrian Hipolito last year, and Jimena Rivera this year.

“It’s cool that I’m going with people in my area,” she said.
