The Madera County Board of Supervisors meeting saw a focus of law enforcement Tuesday morning as they honored two distinguished individuals who dedicated their careers to ensuring the public’s safety, recognized the commitment of the probation department, and even renamed the juvenile detention facility to more accurately reflect their work.

Both Sergent Matt Mollet and Undersheriff Darin McMechan of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office were recognized by the County Supervisors on Tuesday.

After 30 and 37 years, respectively, Sergent Mollet and Undersheriff McMechan will be retiring from MCSO.
