Stallions get rivalry win over Toros

Madera South’s Victor Mercado throws a pitch during Thursday’s victory over Matilda Torres. Mercado struck out 10 and scattered five hits in a complete game victory. He also scored two of the Stallions’ five runs in the win. 

The Matilda Torres Toros baseball team headed into its rivalry game while the Madera South Stallions with a two-game winning streak while the Stallions lost two of three games.


The Stallions scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and made it stand for a 5-1 victory over the Toros on Thursday at Eddie Chapa Field. 


The Stallions got a magnificent pitching performance from Victor Mercado. He tossed a complete game and scattered five hits. He walked one and struck out 10. He also stranded seven Toros on base.
