Bite into some tender, sweet cupcakes when a celebration calls for a yummy dessert.

Easter is a good holiday for desserts (as if there are any non-dessert holidays).

I have often said how my grandmother busied herself every year around this time, baking various kinds of sweet yeast breads, usually decorated with icing and colored sprinkles. For many years, I carried on that tradition, but as I get older, I admit I sometimes look for recipes that do not take as much time.

It’s not that I am too tired for baking; the reason is there are too many medical appointments, with this or that family member, or the vehicles need to be brought in for warranty work, or the cats need a vet visit, or it’s time for a grocery shopping trip. I’m sure you all understand how it goes.
