The Matilda Torres Toros boys cross country team holds the trophy on stage after wining its second straight County/Metro Athletic Conference championship. Benjamin Fernandez, holding trophy, won the individual title, as well.
FRESNO — The Matilda Torres Toros easily won its second straight County/Metro Athletic Conference title while Liberty’s Jaslyn Rodriguez won her third straight Northwest Sequoia Conference title at respective league meets.
The Toros placed four runners in the top five and six in the top 10 to easily outpoint Bullard for the team title (58-20) Wednesday at Woodward Park. The Toros won back-to-back CMAC championships after winning a North Yosemite League title.
Benjamin Fernandez easily outpaced the runners to claim his second league title, and first CMAC title with a time of 15:25.35, 22 seconds better than teammate Alfonso Del Toros in second.
