For the first time, Madera will host Major League Baseball’s Play Ball Pitch Hit and Run on May 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at Lions Town and Country Park. The event is open to baseball and softball players ages 7-14, and it’s a free event.
“I’m expecting about 50 kids,” coordinator Adam Romero said. “Right now, we’re at 25 kids. They have to pre-register to compete.”
Athletes with the highest scores at the local level may advance to the team championship round held at MLB or Minor League Parks across the nation. Team finalists can win an all-expenses paid trip to the 2025 World Series.
