Obituary: Wilma Jean “Jeanne” Russell Tindal

Wilma Jean “Jeanne” Russell Tindal.

 

Wilma Jean “Jeanne” Russell Tindal of Owensville, Missouri, passed peacefully from this life Jan. 1, 2023, at the age of 84, surrounded by her immediate family.


Jeanne was born on Sept. 11, 1938, to Steve Russell and Nellie Lee Smith Russell at Imperial County Hospital in El Centro, California. One of twelve children of Steve and Nellie, she graduated from Madera High with the Class of 1956, in Madera, California. She married Beuford “Beau” Elwin Tindal on June 15, 1956, and spent more than 52 years in devoted marriage until his passing Nov. 29, 2008. They had three children together, living in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri as they moved with his career. She enjoyed doing online religious studies and genealogy research. Jeanne was quite a family historian.


Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Beau, her siblings: Jerald Robert Russell Sr., Steve Wayne Russell, and Malvis Warren Russell, Nellie Louise Gault, Viola Delores Russell, and Lillian Deanna McMullin. Nephews: Mickey Lee Smith, Jerald Robert Russell Jr., Garold Edward Russell, Tony Dale Russell, Gregory Allan Russell, and Michael Eugene Russell. Great nephews David Hunt Jr. and Daniel Roy Gray, and niece, Nannette June Russell.


She is survived by siblings: Janet Freda Hibdon and husband Charles, Dennis Gordon Russell, David Allen Russell and wife Darline, Linda Marlene Jones and Gary Alec Russell. Her sons: Michael Paul Tindal, Larry Dean Tindal and wife Paulla Christine Bizeau Tindal, and daughter Donna Michelle Tindal Griffin and husband Joseph Kenneth Griffin Jr. Grandchildren: Jamie Nicole Palacios-Ramirez, Jessical Lynn Blandón, Ian Michael Tindal, Alexia Jean Tindal, Kyle Allen Tindal, Andrew McKenzie Tindal, Zachariah Beau Tindal, and William Robert Tindal. Great grandchildren: Bianca, Leah, Emilia, Jaden, and Adelyn Palacios-Ramirez, and Delilah and Tilly Tindal, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Graveside memorial service to be held at: Arbor Vitae Cemetery, 1301 Roberts Avenue, Madera, California, on Friday, May 26, at 11 a.m., with reception to follow at the home of her niece, Erica Pipes, address and directions available upon request. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating time or funds to your local senior center or meals on wheels organization.
