For The Madera Tribune

Juan Andaverde.

Juan Andaverde, 76, of Madera, California, passed away on Jan. 10, 2026. Born to Ofelia Aispuro and Ramon Andaverde on March 12, 1949, in Harlingen, Texas, where he lived until he was 15 years old and then made the move to California. This is where he met his wife, Sofia Andaverde, and became a loving father to Juan Manuel, Araseli, and Maria Eliza.

He was hard-working and dedicated. He spent more than 45 years working for Robert A. Johnson Farms, Inc., where he was known for his unwavering integrity and kindheartedness.

More than anything his family was his priority, he loved them more than anything. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by his kindness. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived and missed by his loving wife Sofia Andaverde of 55 years, his three children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m.

We find comfort in knowing Juan’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
