Madera National Little League Majors champions Purl’s Sheet Metal was looking to shake off Saturday’s City Championship loss in Wednesday’s District 10 Tournament of Champions game against Sunnyside.

With one of their leaders, Anna Rosales, back from a trip to Cooperstown representing Madera National Little League, Purl’s was looking to bounce back from its loss to Lee’s Concrete.

However, Rosales didn’t get any help behind her in a 9-5 loss to the Sunnyside Little League champions, Angels, in the Tournament of Champions semifinals. She tossed a complete game and allowed seven hits. She was tagged for nine runs, but just one of the runs was earned. She struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter to suffer the loss.
