The Madera American Little League 8-10-year-old All-Stars team scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead and held on for a 4-3 win Thursday against Chowchilla to win the District 10 championship.
“We had a couple of errors at the end with new kids in different spots. Everything turned out well,” Madera American manager Guni Grewal said.
Chowchilla battled back with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning, but the Madera American All-Stars hung on at the end to record the victory. They will travel to Porterville to play in the Section 7 championships this week.
