Nick Mobley was born in San Francisco, and raised in Santa Rosa, where he lived before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. 

Mobley has a family with a strong military background. His father served in both the Navy and Army, his brother served in the Navy, and several uncles served in Vietnam, one in the intelligence sector and one was a paratrooper. This family connection to military service, paired with his drive for discipline and challenge, shaped his decision to serve. 

After graduating from high school early, Mobley lived with his brother before moving back in with his parents. That’s when he decided that the military might be the next step for him. He walked into the Santa Rosa recruitment office, passing the Air Force, Army, and Navy offices.
