Madera South High school honored with Bonner award

Madera South High School staff was recognized during a May 13 Madera Unified School District Board Meeting with the Bonner Character and Civic Education Award from the Bonner Center at Fresno State. Madera South High School has been named the latest recipient of the Bonner Character and Civic Education Award, presented by the Bonner Center at CSU Fresno. The honor recognizes schools that show strong ethical leadership and a commitment to student well-being and civic responsibility.


During a recent visit, the Bonner Committee commended MSHS for promoting a sense of belonging, psychological safety, and strong relationships among students and staff. The school’s efforts to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs were praised.


The award was formally presented at the Madera Unified board meeting on May 14.
