Law enforcement honors officers

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office and the Madera Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, honored their employees of the year at a dinner at San Joaquin Winery on July 28.
Honored for the Madera County Sheriff’s Office were Michel Fullhart- Deputy of the Year, Victor Sifuentes- Correctional Officer of the Year, Carena Valdez- Civilian Employee of the Year, and Mike Young- Dispatcher of the year.
“We are so proud to have such a strong team of hardworking professionals representing our office, and thank them for their unwavering commitment to serving others,” said Sheriff Tyson Pogue.
The Madera Police Department’s Officer’s of the year were Animal Control Officer Gabriel Mayorga- Nonsworn Officer of the Year, Public Safety Dispatcher Travis Varney, and Reynard Camp- Sworn Officer Of the Year.
“These employees were nominated by their peers for the excellent service they provide to the community of Madera,” said Madera Police Chief Dino Lawson. “They’re always happy to go above and beyond for the citizens they serve and the team members they work with every day.”
