Kindness, and the lack of it
As the saying goes, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” It is not just a saying. It is the truth. We must always be aware of how we are to others. It may be a bad day for you, but how you react about your own tough day could affect others in either a positive or a negative way.
Have you ever been thinking of something and suddenly your mind jumps to a brief incident you remember from your past? It could be a memory from your childhood or another time of your life. It was a brief encounter, something that you don’t even know why you remember, but somewhere in the back of your mind it emerges and you remember it vividly.
As I write this, a couple of incidents from the past come to my mind. The first one was when I was a child, maybe nine or 10 years old. I had walked to the store. I don’t remember what I was wearing, but I do remember what happened. I had my own money in a little box. It was a candy cigarette box. (In those days, candy cigarettes were very common for children to have. It seems weird today for a child to be allowed to buy candy cigarettes.)
