From the shower to the writing pad

Writers use many different avenues to collect thoughts, and inspiration comes in a variety of ways. My mind goes racing through many different thoughts during a day, because I tend to be involved in several tasks at a time. It’s just the way I spend my time, and I believe it keeps my mind exercised.

When I write a column, the idea of a topic forms in my head usually a few days before I begin to write. At that time, I just haven’t figured out how I will convey my thoughts.

I have found that my greatest thoughts and my most profound ideas come to me while I am in the shower. I begin thinking of something, maybe what I will wear that day, and then it will lead to what I will be doing that day. Then, WHAM! That leads to thinking of something else, and it becomes the topic of my article.
