Liberty’s Xaviar Gordon and his family are all smiles after he signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Fresno Pacific University during a school signing party.

After four years starting behind the plate with the Liberty Hawks baseball team, Xaviar Gordon will now patrol the outfield for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds next season.

“Right now, they have me as a catcher or outfield,” he said. “I don’t know if I’m going to be catching that much because they have five or six catchers, already. I’ll probably end up in the outfield. I just need to get my bat in the line-up.”

Gordon’s recruiting path was kind of like a roller coaster. It had its ups and downs, but finally found a place he could call home.
