Fireworks Spectacular show canceled

The City of Madera is sad to announce the news that this year’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular event scheduled to take place at the Madera District Fairgrounds has been canceled.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the fireworks contractor responsible for the display at the main event has canceled.

Event partners have worked incredibly hard on bringing this valued family event back to the community of Madera. During an emergency meeting late Tuesday afternoon with event stakeholders, the Madera Kiwanis were forced to make the difficult decision to officially call the event off after attempts to secure an alternate vendor on such a short timeline were unsuccessful.

The City is grateful for the efforts of the dedicated event sponsors, service clubs, and volunteers who have worked diligently to bring this event out of retirement, including lead organizer the Madera Kiwanis, Madera Evening Lions Club, Madera Noon Rotary, Madera County, and our craft and food vendor community.

The 4th of July Golf Tournament organized by the City of Madera Parks Community Services Department will continue as planned at the Madera Municipal Golf Course and is not affected by the cancellation of the main event at the Madera Fairgrounds.
