Coyotes grab non-league win

The Madera Coyotes girls basketball team took the early lead over the Hoover Patriots and never let it go in a non-conference 52-38 victory in Joe Flores Gym right before Christmas. 

The Coyotes never trailed in the game, and the closest Hoover got was a 4-4 tie before the Coyotes scored nine straight points. 

“We talked about going in half-court man, but before the game, I told them our three-quarter court press would cause them problems, and it did,” head coach Jason Smith said. “We ran that part of our game well most of the night.”
