Coyotes close Visalia tourney with split

VISALIA — After struggling for some consistency the previous day, the Madera Coyotes softball team picked up a victory in the Redwood Softball Tournament before losing to the hosts Friday at Redwood High School.Â
The Coyotes had trouble hitting with runners in scoring position in a 1-1 tie with Tulare Union on Thursday, and followed that with a 5-2 loss to Mission Oak.Â
However, the Coyotes did just enough for a 3-0 victory over Pioneer Valley in the first game Friday before losing, 5-0, to Redwood.
