Coyotes capture Hawk Classic title

The Madera Coyotes boys basketball team pulled away late for a 65-60 victory over Sierra in the Hawk Classic semifinals, and followed that up with a 42-33 victory over Kennedy to win the Hawk Classic on Saturday.

The Coyotes held the Chieftains scoreless over the final minute while forcing two turnovers and sinking five free throws for the win.

Madera had three players reach double-figures and also hit nine 3-pointers in the game.
