VISALIA — The Madera Coyotes softball team advanced one step further in the Div. I Central Section playoffs against the Redwood Rangers.

After a regular season sweep to the Sanger Apaches, the Coyotes, who were co-champions in the County/Metro Athletic Conference, received the No. 10 seed in the Div. I playoffs and traveled to Visalia to battle the Redwood Rangers, a team they split with during the season.

The Coyotes used their speed to take the lead and then got a three-run home run from Emily Erwin to cement the lead in a 6-4 victory Friday.
