Madera County’s Board of Supervisors voted to approve a hike in disposal fees for non-contracted self-haulers at the Fairmead Landfill and the Northfork Transfer Station during the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
After listening to a presentation given by Thierry Boveri, Vice President of Raftelis Financial Consultants LLC, members of the board decided unanimously to approve the fee increase of $4.51 to $7.91, depending on the resident’s collection zone.
The fee increase is scheduled to take effect July 1, 2024, and will continue to cover the current services base operations associated fixed costs. Without the fee increase, funds from the County’s general fund would be redirected to offset the difference.
