While many in the community were enjoying time with family on Christmas, Madera Police Officers responded to the Vallarta Shopping Center parking lot for reports of a shooting.
The gunshot victim and male suspect shooter fled the scene in different directions prior to officers’ arrival at about 4:30 Christmas day. The male victim later returned to the scene and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.
Madera PD is continuing its investigation, but believes this shooting to be an isolated incident.
