Despite responding to a variety of calls for service throughout the evening, Madera Police Department night shift officers stayed proactive and made two notable arrests.

In the first case, Officer Daniel Ruby investigated a theft of approximately $1,000 worth of tools from a local business in the 900 block of South Gateway Drive.

The suspect, 37-year-old Raymond Gutierrez, was identified, and found in possession of some of the stolen tools. The property was recovered and returned to the business owner. Gutierrez was booked into the Madera County Jail.
