A Madera man was arrested over the weekend after police spotted him driving a late model BMW, reported stolen out of Fresno, according to Madera Police.

Officers stopped and arrested Evan Chezick, 38, on July 4 for being in possession of the car, and having live ammunition and other parole violations.

Chezick briefly fled from officers on foot before being taken into custody. The BMW was recovered without incident. A search warrant obtained for Chezick’s residence near the Pilot truck stop also uncovered other ammunition and tools used for burglary. Chezick is being held without bail on the charges.
