Madera County Sheriff's Log: Jan. 7-12
The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents.
Jan. 7
8:44 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 16000 block of Fairview Street in Madera for a report of a scam. Deputy contacted the victim by phone and learned the victim had sent $7,350 in Google Play gift cards to individuals claiming to be from Pay Pal. The case was forwarded to detectives.
Jan. 8
8:36 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Road 222 in North Fork regarding a coroner investigation. The death appears to be the result of natural causes. The report was forwarded to Chief Deputy Coroner’s office.
6:45 p.m. — Deputies responded to the 37000 block of Berkshire Drive in Madera regarding a disturbance. Two people drove to the location and threatened to kill the resident. Both suspects were located at a different location and arrested. A crime report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Jan. 9
9:47 a.m. — Deputy conducted a routine bicycle enforcement stop in the area of Avenue 18 in Madera which resulted in a male being arrested on outstanding warrants and new charges for drug offences. The case was forwarded to the Madera District Attorney’s Office for charges.
5:59 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 17000 block of Road 37 in Madera in regards to someone passing a forged check. A report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review of charges of PC476 against the suspect.
Jan. 10
7:54 a.m. — Deputy responded to the area of Highway 41 and Road 207 in Coarsegold in regards to a coroner’s report. An adult female was deceased due to a motor vehicle collision. The decedent was removed by the Coroner’s Office. A report was written to document the incident.
6:28 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 19000 block of Road 21 in Madera regarding a report of an animal attack on livestock. No suspects or leads at this time. The animal was not located. A report was written for information only and the case was closed.
Jan. 11
12:09 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 17000 block of Karen Road in Madera regarding a potential theft. There was no evidence of a theft and no leads but there was jewelry missing from the residence. A report was taken and a case number was provided to the victim.
2:58 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 2700 block of Falcon Drive in Madera regarding a lost Permanent Card (Green Card). A report was written case was closed.
Jan. 12
11:37 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 23 and Avenue 15 in Madera Regarding a subject who said he was bitten by dogs. Subject was located. He had been drinking and he refused medical attention. He was turned over to family members. Case was forwarded to the Madera County Animal Control Office for their information.
