Madera County Sheriff's Log: Sept. 3-7

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents. Sept. 3

7:35 p.m. — Deputy took a phone report regarding a burglary in Coarsegold which occurred in the 46000 block of Chukchansi Road. Several firearms were stolen from a safe located inside the residence. An investigation was completed and a report was written. Sept. 4

8:38 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a school located in the 26000 block of Avenue 7 in Madera regarding a report of a male juvenile student in possession of a vaping e-cigarette pen. The pen was then confiscated.

This is the second incident this month involving the same student in possession of a vaping-e cigarette pen. The case is to be forwarded to the Madera County Juvenile Probation to pursue the charges against the student.

11:19 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a hotel in the 22000 block of Avenue 18 1/2 in Madera regarding a theft of a suitcase. A report was taken there was no evidence and the case was closed.

4:07 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Spring Trail in Coarsegold regarding a missing child. A report was written child entered into MUPS. Child later was located in good health and taken out of MUPS. Sept. 5

2:30 p.m. — A report of threats to commit vandalism in the 46000 block of Forest Glenn Road in the County of Madera. Resident reported a former business associate was attempting to solicit someone to vandalize his heavy equipment. A conspiracy report was taken at the request of the victim and the investigation is ongoing. Sept. 6

4:14 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 16000 block of Chapin Street in the County of Madera regarding an assault with a deadly weapon report. A subject was arrested and booked at the county jail after he assaulted a family member. A report is to be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney's Office for prosecution. The case closed by arrest. Sept. 7

12:06 a.m. — Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of SR-41 near Lucky Lane in Coarsegold regarding a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle involve in a recent theft of a generator. The male later admitted to taking the generator and said where it was located. The generator was located and returned to the original owner. The male driver was arrested and booked into Madera Department of Corrections for grand theft, possession of stolen property, violation of probation, possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:05 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to an area in the county regarding an illegal marijuana grow. Upon arrival it was determined there was a marijuana grow in the back yard of a residence. The case was forwarded to the marijuana detectives.

4:16 p.m. — A Deputy was dispatched to the 26000 block of Cedar Lane in North Fork regarding a possible child sexual assault. A report was generated and this case is to be forwarded to detectives.
