26-year-old Fresno man arrested in Coarsegold

The Madera Tribune Juan Cassio, 26, of Fresno, was arrested in Coarsegold on July 10 and taken to Madera County Department of Corrections where he was booked on charges of felony possession of a leaded cane, and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and drugs, and driving with a suspended license.

Around 3:24 a.m. that morning, Madera County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jacob Tallmon saw a red sedan with a partially obstructed license plate in the area of Highway 41 and Mecca Lane in Madera County. Sgt. Tallmon conducted a traffic stop, and identified the driver as Juan Cassio of Fresno. During the course of his investigation, Tallmon learned that Cassio is on active probation in Fresno County, and is subject to search and gang terms. Based on these terms, Tallmon detained Cassio and conducted a search of the vehicle, said sheriff’s public information officer Kayla Serrzatto.

During the search, according to Serratto, Tallmon located an imitation handgun, two “billy club” type weapons, various burglary tools, and methamphetamine paraphernalia. Cassio was arrested. He was taken to Madera County jail without incident.
