Christmas tractor parade seeks entries
Help launch the Christmas holiday season with an authentic Madera tradition on the Thursday after Thanksgiving. The Madera Downtown Association in conjunction with the Madera Kiwanis Club is now accepting applications for its 24th annual Candlelight Christmas Tractor Parade.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30th, Madera’s yearly lighted tractor parade will usher in the Christmas season and welcome Santa Claus to town.
All decorated vehicles are eligible to participate with a minimum of 100 lights per vehicles requested.
Early admissions are $45 until November 17 and $55 until Nov. 24.
Combined marching bands from the Madera area high schools and middle schools are slated to perform as well.
Entry forms are available at Kuckenbecker Tractor, GBS Hardware, Midland Tractor, the Madera Chamber office and on its website.
The parade will begin at A Street, proceeding west on Yosemite Avenue to E Street, turn south on E and then turn east on 6th Street to end on South C Street.
“The parade usually lasts about 45 minutes and we have 40 to 50 vehicles,” said Kiwanis parade chair Sharon Creamer.
Submissions from area tractor dealerships, company service trucks, classic cars and motorcycles are expected to be among the decorated entries. Any self-powered display on wheels is welcome to participate.
