Sign ups open for Citizens Academy

The Madera Police Department is accepting applications for its Citizens Academy classes, which will begin Aug. 17.

The class meets weekly from 6-9 p.m. Thursdays for 14 weeks, according to Madera Police Det. Alicia Keiser. Applicants must be adults who either live or work in the city of Madera.

This will be eighth session of the Citizens Academy, she said.

To obtain an application, visit the department at 330 S. C Street or call 675-4203 to ask for one to be sent by mail.
